A field visit to the Women and Juveniles Reformatory

On September 10, 2025, the Kurdistan Organization Human Rights Watch  , in coordination with the Justice Network for Prisoners , conducted a field visit to the Directorate of Reform for Women and Juveniles in Erbil.

The visit, funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid, was part of a program aimed at improving human rights conditions in Iraqi prisons. It sought to review the general situation inside the reformatory and identify the most prominent needs and challenges it faces in terms of infrastructure, healthcare, and the living conditions of detainees.

During the tour, the nature of the work and services provided was closely examined, in a step aimed at enhancing cooperation with civil society institutions.
