لجنة حقوق الانسان تلتقي منظمة النجدة الشعبية لمناقشة حقوق أطفال السجينات
أبريل 28, 2024 التقت لجنة حقوق الإنسان برئاسة النائب ارشد الصالحي رئيس اللجنة وحضور النائب نيسان الزاير اليوم الاحد، بالسيد هوكر جتو رئيس منظمة النجدة الشعبية والوفد المرافق له لمناقشة وضع الاطفال المصاحبين للسجينات.
واشار النائب ارشد الصالحي الى الحاجة لتهيئة مواقع لإنشاء دور الايواء في كافة المحافظات وتكون برعاية وزارة العمل والشؤون الاجتماعية.
من جانبها اكدت النائب نيسان الزاير على ضرورة تعديل القوانين الخاصة بالاطفال المصاحبين للسجينات باعتبار ان وزارة العدل تتحمل اعباء الأطفال ومصاريفهم، اضافة الى الحاجة بنفس الوقت لقوانين تراعي وضع الطفل.
من جهته، لفت السيد هوكر جتو الى وجود برامج هادفة وتقارير سنوية تخصصية حول المعاقين بالسجون وأيضا موضوع ظروف الاجانب في السجون.
كما تطرق الاجتماع الى موضوع انضمام العراق للبروتكول الاختياري لمناهضة التعذيب باعتباره اتفاق مهم يتيح للعراق معالجة المشاكل.
وفي نهاية اللقاء تم الاتفاق مع المنظمة على تهيئة جلسة خاصة لتعديل القوانين الخاصة بحقوق الاطفال المصاحبين للسجينات بحضور المختصين والاتفاق على عقد ورشة خاصة بموضوع تشجيع انضمام العراق للبروتكول الاختياري لمناهضة التعذيب وبرعاية لجنة حقوق الانسان النيابية.
On April 28, 2024, the Human Rights Committee, chaired by Deputy Arshad Al-Salehi, and attended by Deputy Nissan Al-Zair, met with Mr. Hogr Jetu, the head of the Popular Rescue Organization, and the accompanying delegation to discuss the situation of children accompanying female prisoners.
Deputy Arshad Al-Salehi emphasized the need to establish shelters in all governorates under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to accommodate these children. Meanwhile, Deputy Nissan Al-Zair stressed the necessity of amending laws related to children accompanying female prisoners, considering that the Ministry of Justice bears the burdens and expenses of these children, in addition to the need for laws that take into account the child’s situation.
Mr. Hawker Jetu highlighted the existence of purposeful programs and annual specialized reports regarding disabled individuals in prisons as well as the conditions of foreigners in prisons.
The meeting also discussed Iraq’s accession to the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture as an important agreement that allows Iraq to address these issues.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached with the organization to prepare a special session to amend laws related to the rights of children accompanying female prisoners, with the presence of specialists. Additionally, it was agreed to hold a workshop to encourage Iraq’s accession to the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture under the sponsorship of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee.
