Day 3 Health Week Campaign

Erbil – 28 October 2026

For the third consecutive day, the activities of Health Week are continuing in the correctional facilities of Erbil Governorate. The campaign is organized and implemented by Justice Network for the Prisoners’ , funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), in cooperation with the General Directorate of Social Reform in the Kurdistan Region, and in partnership with Sarwaran Pharmacy, the Dentists’ Syndicate, the Public Aid Organization (PAO), the Idris Al-Surji Foundation, ProTeam Company, the Adyan Foundation, Medical World Company, and Rosa Organization. The campaign aims to strengthen health, preventive, and awareness services within the targeted correctional facilities, improve access to healthcare, and enhance cooperation between government institutions, civil society organizations, and health and humanitarian bodies to support the health of male and female inmates.

Today’s activities included the Public Aid Organization (PAO) conducting art therapy sessions with the participation of 23 women, aimed at promoting empowerment and self-expression through artistic activities. Sarwaran Pharmacy also provided medical examinations to detect chronic diseases, including complete blood count (CBC) tests, benefiting 35 women and juveniles, with the aim of monitoring their health conditions and detecting health problems early.

On the service side, the Prisoners’ Justice Network purchased 25 lengths of cloth to provide clothing for about 300 female inmates in the women’s correctional facility, in addition to carrying out a cleaning campaign that included corridors and bathrooms in the women’s and juveniles’ correctional facilities, aimed at promoting hygiene and improving the health environment inside the correctional facilities.

لليوم الثالث على التوالي، تتواصل فعاليات الأسبوع الصحي في إصلاحيات محافظة أربيل، وتُنفَّذ هذه الحملة بتنظيم وتنفيذ شبكة العدالة للسجناء، وبتمويل من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي (NPA)، وبالتعاون مع المديرية العامة للإصلاح الاجتماعي في إقليم كوردستان، وبالشراكة مع صيدلية سروران، ونقابة أطباء الأسنان، ومنظمة نجدة الشعبیة، ومؤسسة إدريس السورجي، وشركة بروتيم (ProTeam)، ومؤسسة أديان، وشركة عالم الطب(Medical World)، ومنظمة روزا، بهدف تعزيز الخدمات الصحية والوقائية والتوعوية داخل الإصلاحيات المستهدفة، وتحسين فرص الوصول إلى الرعاية الصحية، وتعزيز التعاون بين المؤسسات الحكومية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والجهات الصحية والإنسانية لدعم صحة النزلاء والنزيلات.
وشهدت أنشطة اليوم تنفيذ منظمة النجدة الشعبية (PAO) جلسات للعلاج بالفن، بمشاركة 23 امرأة، بهدف تعزيز التمكين والتعبير عن الذات من خلال الأنشطة الفنية. كما قدمت صيدلية سرواران فحوصات طبية للكشف عن الأمراض المزمنة، شملت تحليل تعداد الدم الكامل (CBC)، استفادت منها 35 من النساء والأحداث، بهدف متابعة أوضاعهم الصحية والكشف المبكر عن المشكلات الصحية.
وفي الجانب الخدمي، قامت شبكة العدالة للسجناء بشراء 25 طولاً من القماش لتوفير الملابس لنحو 300 نزيلة في إصلاحية النساء، إلى جانب تنفيذ حملة تنظيف شملت الأروقة والحمامات في إصلاحية النساء والأحداث، بهدف تعزيز النظافة وتحسين البيئة الصحية داخل الإصلاحيات.
