A visit to Al-Amarah Central Reform Prison

Under the sponsorship of the Justice Network for Prisoners  and with funding from the Norwegian People’s Aid, the Mada’oun for Development Organization in Maysan conducted an oversight visit to Al-Amarah Central Reform Prison on December 11, 2025, accompanied by the Director of the Human Rights Commission in the Governorate.

The visit aimed to review the conditions of prisoners and activate the role of oversight institutions in Iraqi reformatories, where recommendations were presented focusing on proposing new legislation to improve the reality of prisons.
