في 12/9/2023 ساعة عاشرة صباحا. تم عرض هذا الموضوع من قبل محامية ناشطة في هذا المجال وتحدث عن عقوبة الاعدام في اقليم كردستان و لماذا تم تعليقها وعدم العمل بها وطريقة تنفيذ حكم الاعدام في الاقليم قبل وقف هذا الحكم, والاجراءات التي كانت تتخذها الحكومة عند تنفيذ هذا الحكم و كذلك تم طرح سؤال ما اذا كان وقف تنفيذ حكم الاعدام يؤدي الي التقليل من نسبة الجريمة بشكل عام. في نهاية الجلسة تم الوصول الي استنتاج بانه مع الرغم من وقف تنفيذ حكم الاعدام لم يؤدي ذلك الي التقليل من نسبة الجرائم التي يعاقب عليها بالاعدام ولكن مع ذلك وقف تنفيذ حكم الاعدام يعتبر خطوة جيدة اتخذت من قبل الاقليم وذلك لاعتبارات انسانية وكذلك الغرض من تنفيذ العقوبة هو لاعادة تأهيل المحكوم وليس الانتقام منه.
This topic was presented through a session that aired on Duhok
radio on 12/9/2023 at ten o'clock in the morning. The topic was
presented by a lawyer that is active in this field, she talked
about the capital punishment in Kurdistan, and why it was
suspended, the method of carrying out capital punishment in
Kurdistan before it was suspended, and the procedures that the
government was taking when implementing this sentence, as
well as the question of whether the suspension of capital
punishment leads to reducing the crime rate in general. At the
end of the session, a conclusion was reached that despite the
suspension of capital punishment in Kurdistan, it did not reduce
the percentage of the crimes that are punishable by death, but
nevertheless, suspension of capital punishment was a good
step taken by Kurdistan government for humanitarian
considerations, as well as the purpose of the punishment is to
rehabilitate the convict and not to take revenge on him.
