ضمن مشروع شبكة العدالة للسجناء ، ضمن مبادرتها لتعزيز الحق في المحاكمات العادلة، نفذت منظمة المودة بدعم من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي زيارة تفقدية إلى مركز إصلاحية النساء والشباب في محافظة السماوه بتاريخ 15/4/2024. خلال هذه الزيارة، تبيّن أن عدد الموقوفين بلغ 3، بينما بلغ عدد المحكومين 810، يتألفون من 9 نساء، و5 شباب، و796 رجلاً، ليصبح العدد الإجمالي 813 سجيناً. ومع قدرة السجن على استيعاب 350 سجيناً فقط، فإن هذا الفارق الكبير يشير إلى اكتظاظ المركز، مما يُعَانيه السجناء بمشاكل صحية جسيمة نتيجة لتلك الأوضاع القاسية.
Within the project of the Prisoners’ Justice Network, as part of its initiative to promote the right to fair trials, al-mawada Organization, with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid organization, conducted an inspection visit to a correctional center for women and youth in AL-smawa province on April 15, 2024. During this visit, it was found that the number of detainees was 3, while the number of convicts was 810, consisting of 9 women, 5 youth, and 796 men, making the total number 813 prisoners. With the prison’s capacity to accommodate only 350 inmates, this significant gap indicates overcrowding in the facility, leading to serious health problems suffered by prisoners due to these harsh conditions
