The role of oversight institutions in prisons and reformatories in Iraq

Under the patronage of the Justice Network for Prisoners and with funding from the Norwegian People’s Aid, on December 1st, Al-Mabamin Humanitarian Foundation conducted a field visit to the Juvenile Police Center in Basra.

The visit resulted in improved coordination between the relevant authorities and raised awareness of reformative practices. The foundation recommends enhancing psychological and vocational support programs for juveniles, developing staff capacities, and ensuring periodic follow-up to improve conditions.
