First Visit -Al Muthna Central prison

On May 11, 2026, the Women’s Center for Human Rights conducted a field visit to Samawa Central Prison in Iraq, in cooperation with the Justice Network for Prisoners’ and funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid organization, with the aim of “examining the conditions of detainees in the prison and assessing the extent to which detention conditions comply with national standards.”
