في إطار مشروع “حقوق الإنسان في السجون العراقية” الذي تنفذه شبكة العدالة للسجناء (JNP) بدعم مالي من NPA النرويجية.
نظمت منظمة المحقق لسيادة القانون احتفالًا بمناسبة يوم السلام العالمي بتاريخ 21/9/2023 في فندق فان رويال في اربيل. أولاً، ألقت منظمة المحقق لسيادة القانون وشبكة العدالة للسجناء كلماتهم كمنظمين. ثم تحدث رئيس المكتب القانوني لرئاسة الجمهورية ثم رئيس الهيئة المستقلة لحقوق الإنسان ومدير عام إصلاحيات إقليم كوردستان، عن المناسبة ودور مؤسساتهم في إجراء الإصلاحات بين السجناء. واتفق الجميع على أن المدانين، مهما كانت جرائمهم، ليسوا معفيين من حقوق الإنسان، وأنه ينبغي حماية حقوقهم.
وكان موضوع آخر للمناقشة هو العقوبات البديلة، حيث سلط الضوء على فوائد تطبيق العقوبات البديلة على السجناء، سواء بالنسبة لهم أو للمجتمع، وهو ما يتم اتباعه حاليًا في العديد من البلدان. ومن الجدير بالذكر أنه تم إعداد معرض فني بهذه المناسبة، جمع بين السلام وحقوق الأسرى، الأمر الذي لفت انتباه الجمهور

Within the framework of the project “Human Rights in Iraqi Prisons” implemented by the Justice for Prisoners Network (JNP) with the financial support of the Norwegian people’s aid (NPA).
Investigator Organization for the Rule of Law (IOL) organized a carnival on World Peace Day on 21/9/2023 at Van Royal Hotel in Erbil. In the beginning, Investigator Organization and Justice for Prisoners Network presented their speeches as organizers. Then, the Head of the Legal Office at Kurdistan Region Presidency, the Head of the Independent Commission for Human Rights, the General Director of Reforms at Kurdistan Region spoke about the event and the role of their institutions in carrying out reforms among prisoners.
Everyone agreed that those who are convicted, regardless of their crimes, were not exempted from human rights and that their rights should be protected.
Another topic of the discussion was the (alternative punishments), highlighting the benefits of implementing alternative punishments on prisoners, both for themselves and society, which is currently followed in many countries.
It is worth mentioning that an art exhibition was prepared on this occasion, which combined peace and prisoners’ rights, which attracted the attention of the audience.
