Toward Psychosocial Rehabilitation: An Art Therapy Workshop at Sulaymaniyah Reformotories

On June 21, 2026, the Wachan Organization organized an art therapy and psychosocial support workshop at the Sulaymaniyah Adult Reformotory , targeting inmates involved in drug-related cases, in collaboration with the Justice Network for Prisoners  and funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid. The workshop served as a creative platform for participants to express their inner feelings through painting under the supervision of specialists, aiming to build their self-confidence and enhance their social skills in preparation for their successful reintegration into society as productive individuals. This initiative reflects a broader shift in correctional institutions from mere incarceration toward comprehensive rehabilitation.

نحو إعادة التأهيل النفسي والاجتماعي: ورشة علاجية بالفن في إصلاحية السليمانية

نظمت منظمة “ووچان” في الحادي والعشرين من حزيران 2026، ورشة علاجية بالفن والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي داخل إصلاحية الكبار بالسليمانية، استهدفت نزلاء قضايا المخدرات، وذلك بالتعاون مع شبكة العدالة للسجناء وبتمويل من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي. وقد مثّلت الورشة منصة إبداعية للمشاركين للتعبير عن مكنوناتهم عبر الرسم، تحت إشراف مختصين، بهدف بناء ثقتهم بأنفسهم وتطوير مهاراتهم الاجتماعية، تمهيداً لإعادة إدماجهم في المجتمع كأفراد فاعلين، في خطوة تعكس تحول المؤسسات الإصلاحية من مجرد حبس إلى تأهيل شامل.
