Ghusn Al Zaiton held an awareness session on human rights for youth in Ba’shiqa, Nineveh Governorate.

In collaboration with the Justice  Network for Prisoners and with funding from Norwegian People’s Aid, the Ghusn Al Zaiton Organization held an awareness session on human rights in the Ba’shiqa sub-district of Nineveh Governorate on October 20, 2025, with the participation of youth from diverse backgrounds. The discussion focused on the general concept of human rights and the rights of prisoners, linking the absence of equality to feelings of exclusion and extremism. Relevant Iraqi and international laws were also reviewed, with a reference to the fact that the main challenge lies in their practical implementation, not in the existence of the texts. The session concluded with recommendations emphasizing the necessity of improving conditions in detention centers, applying the laws, and promoting the principle of equality to ensure human dignity.
