An awareness seminar on prisoners’ rights was held in Ramadi

On August 7, 2025, under the sponsorship of Justice Network for the Prisoners’ and with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid Organization, as part of a project to promote human rights in Iraqi prisons. The seminar addressed international standards for the treatment of prisoners according to the Nelson Mandela Rules, with a focus on health aspects and physical safety. The session witnessed clear interaction from the participants, and the discussions emphasized that Iraqi prisons are still far from applying these standards, highlighting the need to intensify efforts to improve their conditions. It was decided to continue the sessions next week to further the project’s trajectory.
