An awareness seminar for youth in Duhok

In cooperation with the Human Rights Organization in Kurdistan, in partnership with the Justice Network for Prisoners, and with financial support from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), an awareness seminar on human rights was organized in the Kawa Preparatory Hall in the city of Duhok on October 30, 2025.

The seminar was attended by 39 individuals, including 36 male and female twelfth-grade students, in addition to a teacher, the school principal, and representatives from the implementing organization. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about human rights in Iraq, focusing on the rights and duties of students, the fundamentals of the rights of the convicted and detained, in addition to awareness about the safe use of social media and communication applications, and a review of the Law on Preventing the Misuse of Telecommunications Devices No. (15) of 2008.

شارك في الندوة 39 شخصاً، بينهم 36 طالباً وطالبة من الصف الثاني عشر، بالإضافة إلى مدرِّس ومدير المدرسة، وممثلين عن المنظمة المنفذة. وقد هدفت الندوة إلى رفع الوعي بحقوق الإنسان في العراق، مع التركيز على حقوق وواجبات الطلاب، وأساسيات حقوق المحكومين والموقوفين، إلى جانب التوعية حول الاستخدام الآمن لوسائل التواصل وتطبيقات الاتصال، واستعراض قانون منع إساءة استعمال أجهزة الاتصالات رقم (15) لسنة 2008.
