A seminar to educate students about human rights at Kawa Preparatory School

An awareness seminar on human rights was held at Kawa Preparatory School in Duhok city on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, targeting twelfth-grade students. The event was implemented by the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, under the patronage of the Justice Network  for Prisoners, and funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).

The seminar was attended by 63 people, including 57 male and female students, four managers and teachers, in addition to two staff members from the implementing organization. During the one-hour activity, the principles of human rights were highlighted, with a focus on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in addition to explaining the rights and duties of students.

The seminar also addressed the topic of safe use of social media, provided an overview of the Communications Devices Misuse Prevention Law No. (15) of 2008, and introduced the rights of the convicted and detained. The event concluded with an open discussion session to answer the questions and inquiries of the attendees.
