Partcipation in specialized dialogue session

A representative of the Justice Network for Prisoners (JNP) participated in the specialized dialogue session organized by the Ozone Network for Environmental Protection, in cooperation with the Public Aid Organization, and with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the headquarters of the Environment Protection and Improvement Board in Erbil. The session included participation from representatives of relevant ministries and government institutions, as well as civil society organizations that are members of the Joint Working Group, which was formed in 2025.

The discussions focused on reviewing the legislative environment related to environmental protection and addressing climate change. Additionally, the proposed draft amendments to the Environmental Protection and Improvement Law in the Kurdistan Region were presented. The session also included the submission of a number of technical proposals, along with discussions on the subsequent steps and procedures for the legislative amendment and development process.

شارك ممثل شبكة العدالة للسجناء (JNP) في الجلسة الحوارية التخصصية التي نظمتها شبكة الأوزون للحفاظ على البيئة بالتعاون مع منظمة النجدة الشعبية، وبدعم من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي (NPA)، يوم الاثنين الموافق 22 حزيران 2026 في قاعة هيئة حماية وتحسين البيئة في أربيل. بمشاركة ممثلين عن الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني الأعضاء في فريق العمل المشترك الذي تم تشكيله عام 2025.
وركزت المناقشات على مراجعة البيئة التشريعية المتعلقة بحماية البيئة ومواجهة التغير المناخي، إلى جانب استعراض مسودة التعديلات المقترحة على قانون حماية وتحسين البيئة في إقليم كردستان. كما شهدت الجلسة تقديم عدد من المقترحات الفنية ومناقشة الخطوات والإجراءات اللاحقة الخاصة بعملية التعديل والتطوير التشريعي.
