On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Justice Network for Prisoners (JNP) launched the “Health Week” campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Sulaymaniyah Adult Reform Directorate, and in partnership with civil society organizations, private sector companies, hospitals, and health unions.
The campaign aims to enhance healthcare services provided to inmates and improve their living conditions within the reformatories, in addition to strengthening cooperation between government institutions, civil society, and the private sector in supporting prisoners’ human and health rights.
During his speech at the campaign opening, the Executive Director of the Justice Network for Prisoners , Mr. Sangar Khader Hamad, emphasized the importance of joint cooperation between government institutions, civil society organizations, professional unions, hospitals, and the private sector in serving prisoners and providing them with necessary healthcare. He noted that these joint efforts reflect the collective responsibility to uphold human dignity and enhance opportunities for rehabilitation and social integration.
