Health Week Launches in Women’s, Juveniles’, and Adults’ Reformotories in Erbil

The activities of Health Week launched today in the women’s, juveniles’, and adults’ correctional facilities in Erbil, during a press conference held with the participation of the General Directorate of Social Reform in the Kurdistan Region, Erbil Governorate, the General Directorate of Health, and the Justice Network for Prisoners (JNP), along with a number of entities and companies supporting the campaign.

The campaign is organized and implemented by the Justice Network for Prisoners (JNP), funded by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), and carried out in cooperation with the General Directorate of Social Reform in the Kurdistan Region, with the aim of enhancing health, preventive, and awareness services inside the targeted correctional facilities.

On the first day of the campaign, materials and supplies provided by the Dentists’ Syndicate, “World of Medicine,” and supporting parties were received. The Dentists’ Syndicate provided the campaign with 16 types of dental medical supplies, while “World of Medicine” provided large quantities of medical supplies for the women’s and juveniles’ correctional facility, marking the start of field activities inside the correctional facilities.

Activities included a cleaning campaign inside the adults’ correctional facility, in cooperation between the Justice Network for Prisoners and the People’s Relief Organization, while Proteam carried out sterilization, disinfection, and rodent control inside the women’s and juveniles’ correctional facilities.

AKRIN Company also contributed to supporting the campaign by providing the adults’ correctional facility with cleaning tools and laundry materials, contributing to enhancing the level of cleanliness and improving the health environment inside the facility.

This campaign comes within the efforts of the Justice Network for Prisoners and its partners to improve health conditions inside correctional facilities, through cleaning, sterilization, and health awareness activities, and by supporting preventive measures that contribute to protecting the health of inmates and improving their living conditions, in cooperation with government entities, organizations, and supporting companies.

انطلاق الأسبوع الصحي في إصلاحيات النساء والأحداث والكبار في أربيل

انطلقت اليوم فعاليات الأسبوع الصحي في إصلاحيات النساء والأحداث وإصلاحية الكبار في أربيل، خلال مؤتمر صحفي عُقد بمشاركة المديرية العامة للإصلاح الاجتماعي في إقليم كوردستان، ومحافظة أربيل، والمديرية العامة للصحة، وشبكة العدالة للسجناء (JNP)، إلى جانب عدد من الجهات والشركات الداعمة للحملة.

وتُنفَّذ هذه الحملة بتنظيم وتنفيذ شبكة العدالة للسجناء (JNP)، وبتمويل من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي (NPA)، وبالتعاون مع المديرية العامة للإصلاح الاجتماعي في إقليم كوردستان، بهدف تعزيز الخدمات الصحية والوقائية والتوعوية داخل الإصلاحيات المستهدفة.

وفي اليوم الأول للحملة، جرى استلام المواد والمستلزمات المقدمة من نقابة أطباء الأسنان و«عالم الطب» والجهات الداعمة. وقد زوّدت نقابة أطباء الأسنان الحملة بـ16 نوعاً من المستلزمات الطبية الخاصة بالأسنان، فيما وفّرت «عالم الطب» كميات كبيرة من المستلزمات الطبية لإصلاحية النساء والأحداث، إيذاناً بانطلاق الأنشطة الميدانية داخل الإصلاحيات.

وشملت الأنشطة تنفيذ حملة تنظيف داخل إصلاحية الكبار، بالتعاون بين شبكة العدالة للسجناء ومنظمة النجدة الشعبية، فيما نفذت شركة Proteam أعمال التعقيم والتعفير ومكافحة القوارض داخل إصلاحيتي النساء والأحداث.

كما ساهمت شركة AKRIN في دعم الحملة من خلال تزويد إصلاحية الكبار بأدوات التنظيف ومواد الغسيل، بما يسهم في تعزيز مستوى النظافة وتحسين البيئة الصحية داخل الإصلاحية.

وتأتي هذه الحملة ضمن جهود شبكة العدالة للسجناء وشركائها لتعزيز الواقع الصحي داخل الإصلاحيات، من خلال تنفيذ أنشطة التنظيف والتعقيم والتوعية الصحية، ودعم الإجراءات الوقائية التي تسهم في حماية صحة النزلاء وتحسين ظروفهم المعيشية، بالتعاون مع الجهات الحكومية والمنظمات والشركات الداعمة.
