Donate a Book arrived at Nasiriyah Central Prison

As part of efforts to enhance the intellectual, cultural, and social awareness of inmates in Reformatories , the Justice Network for Prisoners carried out a book donation campaign in Dhi Qar Governorate, in coordination with the Public Aid  Organization and the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights.

The campaign took place on May 20, 2026, at the Nasiriyah Central Prison, and saw the donation of 200 diverse books covering intellectual, cultural, and literary fields. The aim was to support the prison library and provide knowledge resources that contribute to the development of inmates’ awareness and enhance opportunities for reform and rehabilitation.

This initiative is part of a series of humanitarian activities seeking to improve the Reformatory environment within prisons by providing tools of knowledge that help inmates use their time positively and constructively, which in turn reflects on their behavior and future after release.

في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الوعي الفكري والثقافي والاجتماعي لدى نزلاء المؤسسات الإصلاحية، نفّذت شبكة العدالة للسجناء حملة تبرع بالكتب في محافظة ذي قار، وذلك بالتنسيق مع منظمة النجدة الشعبية والمفوضية العليا لحقوق الإنسان.

وجاءت هذه الحملة بتاريخ 20 أيار 2026، حيث تم تنفيذها في سجن الناصرية المركزي، وشهدت التبرع بـ(200) كتاب متنوع في مجالات فكرية وثقافية وأدبية مختلفة، بهدف دعم مكتبة السجن وإتاحة مصادر معرفية تسهم في تنمية وعي النزلاء وتعزيز فرص الإصلاح والتأهيل.

وتأتي هذه المبادرة ضمن سلسلة أنشطة إنسانية تسعى إلى تحسين البيئة الإصلاحية داخل السجون، من خلال توفير أدوات المعرفة التي تساعد النزلاء على استثمار وقتهم بشكل إيجابي وبنّاء، بما ينعكس على سلوكهم ومستقبلهم بعد الإفراج
