Day Two – Health Campaign at Al-Samawah Central Prison

The Prisoners’ Justice Network, in cooperation with Al-Risalah Organization for Human Rights and the Popular Relief Organization, and funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid, organized the second day of the weekly health campaign at Al-Samawah Central Prison.

First: Coordination with the Muthanna Health Directorate
A delegation from the prison administration and Al-Risalah Organization visited the Director General of Muthanna Health, where both parties discussed providing a medical staff to treat inmates and diagnose their conditions. The directorate affirmed its full support for health programs in correctional institutions.

Second: Cleaning and Sterilization Campaign
A comprehensive campaign was carried out with the participation of the prison’s health center and the Iraqi Red Crescent, covering the cleaning and sterilization of internal halls, bathrooms, the kitchen, cooling devices, and administrative sections, using safe sterilizing materials.

The campaign was well received by the inmates, who praised the efforts and called for its repetition, given the age of the prison building and its continuous need for care.
