The Justice for Prisoners Network, represented by its Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the Director of Rosa Organization for Women and Environmental Protection, held a meeting with the Director General of the General Directorate of Social Reform, Mr. Ehsan Baban, on June 30, 2025.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation within the project to improve human rights conditions in Iraqi detention centers, funded by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA). The two sides also reviewed preparations for launching a week-long health campaign at the Women and Juveniles Reformatory in Erbil, aimed at enhancing health services and improving detention conditions in both facilities.
Mr. Baban expressed his full readiness to continue cooperation with the Network as before, emphasizing the importance of joint coordination with civil society organizations to promote human rights standards within detention centers.
This meeting comes within the framework of joint efforts between government agencies, local and international organizations to improve detention conditions and ensure respect for the fundamental rights of detainees.
اجتماع تنسيقي بين شبكة العدالة للسجناء ومديرية الإصلاح الاجتماعي
عقدت شبكة العدالة للسجناء، ممثلة بمسؤولة قسم المراقبة والتقييم ومديرة منظمة روزا، اجتماعاً مع المدير العام لمديرية الإصلاح الاجتماعي، السيد إحسان بابان، وذلك يوم 30 حزيران 2025.
ناقش الاجتماع سبل تعزيز التعاون ضمن مشروع تحسين أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في مراكز الاحتجاز العراقية، الممول من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي (NPA). كما ناقش الجانبان التحضيرات لإطلاق حملة صحية لمدة أسبوع في المدیریة الاصلاحی للنساء والأحداث في أربيل، بهدف تعزيز الخدمات الصحية وتحسين ظروف الاحتجاز في المؤسستين.
وأبدى السيد بابان استعداده الكامل لمواصلة التعاون مع الشبكة كما في السابق، مؤكداً على أهمية التنسيق المشترك مع منظمات المجتمع المدني لتعزيز معايير حقوق الإنسان داخل مراكز الاحتجاز.
يأتي هذا الاجتماع في إطار الجهود المشتركة بين الجهات الحكومية والمنظمات المحلية والدولية لتحسين ظروف الاحتجاز وضمان احترام الحقوق الأساسية للمحتجزين.
