A Seminar in Ramadi on prisoners’ rights

Under the patronage of the Justice Network for Prisoners and with funding from the Norwegian People’s Aid Organization, the second symposium of the program for improving the human rights conditions of convicts and detainees in Iraq was held in the city of Ramadi on August 12, 2025. It was attended by a group of young people and government employees and focused on introducing the Nelson Mandela Rules on prisoners’ rights and discussing the reality of their implementation in Iraq. The symposium aimed to raise awareness of the importance of respecting prisoners’ rights and ensuring their humane treatment.

برعاية شبكة العدالة للسجناء وبتمويل من منظمة مساعدات الشعب النرويجي، أقيمت في مدينة الرمادي يوم 12 آب 2025 الندوة الثانيةضمن برنامج تحسين أوضاع حقوق الإنسان للمحكومين والموقوفين في العراق. شارك فيها مجموعة من الشباب والموظفين الحكوميين، وتركزت على التعريف بقواعد نيلسون مانديلا الخاصة بحقوق السجناء ومناقشة واقع تطبيقها في العراق. هدفت الندوة إلى تعزيز الوعي بأهمية احترام حقوق السجناء وضمان معاملتهم بشكل إنساني.
