As part of the ongoing activities of the Health Week in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, the<\/span> Justice Network for\u00a0Prisoners <\/span><\/strong>\u00a0continued its humanitarian programs on August 10, 2026. The second day witnessed the implementation of a comprehensive package of health and relief initiatives targeting inmates in various correctional facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

With support from\u00a0<\/span>M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF)<\/span><\/strong> , integrated health baskets were distributed, along with mattresses and blankets, to the inmates of the women’s and juvenile Reformotory . This step aims to provide their basic needs and improve living standards within the wards.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the medical front, the\u00a0<\/span>mobile medical team affiliated with Anwar Sheikha Hospital<\/span><\/strong> began delivering its clinical services, with a specialist physician assigned to the adult Reformotory . This aims to enhance the healthcare provided and ensure regular check-ups for inmates, contributing to the early detection and follow-up of health issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the area of improving the internal environment,\u00a0<\/span>DHRD Organization<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0took the initiative to provide sanitizers and cleaning materials, and implemented a comprehensive cleaning campaign inside the adult correctional facility. This helped create a healthy and clean environment that preserves the dignity of inmates and reduces the risk of diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pioneer Company for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0also played a prominent role by providing the necessary medications and medical supplies. These were distributed according to the actual needs of the inmates, following careful review by the medical team, thus serving as a complementary link to the efforts of all parties participating in this Health Week.<\/span><\/p>\n
