On the morning of July 28, 2025, the team from the\u00a0Women’s Rights Center in Samawah<\/strong>, in cooperation with the\u00a0Justice\u00a0 Network for Prisoners <\/strong>\u00a0and with support from the\u00a0Norwegian People’s Aid<\/strong>, conducted a field visit to the\u00a0juvenile detention center in Al-Muthanna Governorate<\/strong>. The aim was to assess the conditions of detained minors and ensure the facility\u2019s compliance with international child rights standards.<\/p>\n

The visit included a meeting with the prison director,\u00a0Mr. Muayad Naeem Mansour<\/strong>, to discuss institutional procedures, as well as direct conversations with several detained juveniles to hear their needs and concerns. The team evaluated detention conditions, including healthcare, educational services, and psychological support.<\/p>\n

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to monitor prison conditions and document potential violations. The network seeks to provide practical recommendations to improve detention realities and safeguard minors’ rights while raising community awareness about the rights of this vulnerable group.<\/p>\n

This step is not merely a routine inspection but part of a long journey toward more humane justice, where hope remains for positive change to touch the lives of every child behind bars.<\/h3>\n
