On July 22, 2025, Al-Risala Human Rights Organization, in cooperation with the Justice Network for Prisoners and with funding from the Norwegian People’s Aid, conducted a visit to Samawah Central Prison for Men in Al-Muthanna Governorate.<\/h4>\n

The team began their visit with an inspection tour of the prison\u2019s sections, followed by a meeting with the prison director and officials to discuss the conditions of inmates and the services provided to them. The team also met with several detainees to listen to their demands, which focused on improving healthcare and facilitating family visits.<\/h4>\n

The visit resulted in an agreement to organize regular monitoring visits and conduct training workshops for both inmates and staff. Additionally, observations and recommendations were documented for follow-up with the relevant authorities, as part of ongoing efforts to improve prison conditions and uphold detainees\u2019 rights.<\/h4>\n

This visit is part of a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing human rights standards in Iraqi detention centers, supported by international partner organizations.<\/h4>\n
