The ghusn alzaytun Organization held a seminar on June 5, 2024, in Mosul Governorate – Baadre Camp as part of the project to improve the human rights situation of prisoners and detainees in Iraq. The project is organized by the Prisoners’ Justice Network with the support of the Norwegian People’s Aid.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by 35 people, all of whom were women. The seminar focused on raising awareness about prisoners’ rights under local and international laws, including the Nelson Mandela Rules and the UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners. There was also a general discussion and a Q&A session aimed at raising public awareness about prisoners’ rights and achieving a more just and respectful society for human rights for all, including those convicted and detained in prison.<\/p>\n
For the first time, workshops and awareness sessions specifically for women were organized to increase their knowledge of prisoners’ rights.
